My name is Mimi Moon Meno (aka Megan Hayward), and I am Peri- Meno!

I have worked for the last 20++ years in the construction industry with a focus on building and maintaining, social, affordable, accessible, and retirement housing outcomes in South Australia and beyond.

How did I end up advocating and raising awareness for Menopause?

It is a pretty common story really, for lots of women, I am not special, but I have a purpose that others have not yet connected the dots with...

With my profession in the social housing sector for the last 18+ years, I became acutely aware of the fact that Generation X women are the fasted growing homeless cohort in Australia (followed quickly by the Boomers), with some 400,000 of us over the age of 45 at risk of homelessness and this is growing by around 30% every 5 years and Menopause is literally the common denominating factor for Gen X women everywhere, yet it is not being spoken about.

I know there is a real and clear link, where a few changes in circumstances (relationship, employment, super, and health status) because of Menopause, is having an unfavourable impact on us and this is contributing to homelessness amongst us.

My personal experience of being dismissed, misdiagnosed, leaving jobs, moving away from my husband, and hitting rock bottom, made me start a movement about Menopause awareness. We must bring women together, raise our voices, share our stories, share our experiences, share our solutions, about the Menopause change. I will educate you about what Menopause is and guide you through how Movement, Mindset and Modify will keep you vibrating positively on the journey.

Recently I led the submission for the Australian Menopause Experts Group (MEG), to the Australian Senate Inquiry into the Effects of Menopause, because I am determined to influence public policy, and enhance support for every woman that is going to experience the Menopause change.

I am a qualified Menopause Champion and soon to be Certified Women’s Health & Wellness Coach. I hold and MBA, and a Master’s in Applied Project Management (MAPM), and Diploma in Interior Design, but above all I am just like you, a fully Qualified Midlife Women that started looking for answers; which I now share!

Sending Positive Vibrations, M x
